PadelBand consists of two main elements. On the one hand, there is the physical device that incorporates a variety of electronic sensors and attaches to the handle of the shovel. On the other hand, we find the mobile application designed to manage the device and present the results clearly. PadelBand is linked via Bluetooth Low Energy to your mobile phone, allowing you to log in to start collecting data in a simple and comfortable way. At the end of your match or training session, you will only have to stop the session from your mobile device. This will allow the data to be transmitted to our servers, where it will be meticulously processed so that you can access your results visually.
From the PadelBand team, we have structured these metrics into two fundamental sections. First of all, we have the analysis of the session, whether it is a training session or a match. In this section, we start by calculating general metrics, such as calories consumed, number of steps taken, and number of punches taken. In addition, we also consider highly specific metrics for padel, such as the individual count of different types of hits (forehands, backhands, volleys, spikes, lobs, among others), the average quality of the execution of these hits on a scale of 1 to 7 and the temporal distribution of the hits carried out. This session-level analysis provides the basis for the second set of metrics, which focus on your personal data as a player. This is where your playing style, whether offensive or defensive, is identified, your most effective shot and the one that requires the most improvement is determined, and your overall skill level as a player is established. This data is condensed into what we call your "player card", a visual summary that reflects your evolution and progress in your career as a padel player.
The data analysis is absolutely personalized, since the device fits the handle of your racket and monitors your movements during the game to generate the previously explained metrics.
